Doncaster benefits from a well-connected transport network, including a mix of A roads and motorways. The M18 runs to the north and east of the town, while the A1 borders the west and south. The junction where the A630, A638, and A18 meet offers an ideal location for motorway and confidence-building training. In recent years, we’ve delivered training for both private individuals and corporate drivers across areas such as Balby, Sunnyfields, Old Cantley, Branton, and Rossington.
Our tutors will come to you, taking you out on the road in your own vehicle.
Whether you are a corporate client training several drivers or a private individual, we have many courses, all tailored especially for the driver to increase skill and safety.
Our courses are available for both car and van drivers.
3.5hr –The benefit of this shorter course is that it’s the lowest-priced option. The disadvantage is that for some drivers, it is sometimes not quite long enough, but it is ideal for companies training two or more drivers in separate areas.
2 x 3.5hr – This is very beneficial for clients who feel a full day would be too intense and need the split to help them absorb more over a more extended period. Often, a driver gets homework from the first session, so they can practice what has been covered to help them with session two. Older drivers and those with confidence issues often opt for these courses.
7hr full day – Although a full day can be hard work for some, a full day is more cost-effective than 2 x 3.5hr. It’s ideal for those who are pushed for time. If your company has asked you to do this course, perhaps you feel a 7hr session would work better for you. We can split a full day for two drivers, so one driver is trained AM, and then one is trained PM.
We offer longer course durations for those with specific issues and offer 3, 4 and 5 x 3.5hr options. These are often taken over a several-week period and are ideal if you have deep-rooted driving issues or have not driven for a long time.

Road Safety Risks and Information – Doncaster
Doncaster is served by major motorways, including the M18 and the A1, alongside several high-speed A roads such as the A630, A635, and A638. These routes are known for their elevated collision rates, making it essential for drivers to be aware of accident hotspots when travelling in the area.
Key High-Risk Areas:
- Junction 37 of the A1 (Doncaster Bypass) connects with the A635 from Barnsley and has a notable history of accidents. Many collisions occur around the roundabout, often due to unclear signage or incorrect lane usage. Correct lane positioning is crucial here to reduce the risk of incidents.
- A635 (Barnsley Road) continues into Doncaster and experiences a significant spike in collision rates during peak traffic hours. High-risk zones are commonly found near junctions, traffic lights, and the York Road intersection, which poses challenges for many drivers.
- As York Road leads into the city centre, it converges at St Mary’s Roundabout, connecting with the A19, Sprotbrough Road, and North Bridge Road. This roundabout is among the most collision-prone areas, particularly around the A19 Bentley Road exits.
- Junction 36 of the A1 links with the A630 High Road from Rotherham, entering Doncaster from the southwest. The Balby Road interchange, which connects with the A18, is another complex junction with a high frequency of recorded accidents.
- From the M18 south of Doncaster, the A6182 and A638 link to the A18. Both routes have above-average collision statistics, especially during rush hour, where a lack of clear signalling and poor observation often contribute to crashes.
In urban areas, traffic congestion is exacerbated by public transport routes. Collisions are often recorded near bus stops and taxi ranks, where passengers may cross the road unexpectedly. These incidents are frequently caused by driver impatience or distraction, highlighting the importance of remaining calm and vigilant, especially around pedestrians and cyclists.
Closer to the city centre, roads such as Cleveland Street, Hall Gate, and Wood Street show consistently high collision rates. Junctions like East Laith Gate and Park Road are particularly hazardous. These narrower inner-city streets are prone to congestion, which contributes to a higher frequency of accidents.
