We offer a range of bespoke driving courses. For those who are specifically looking for a driver safety course, we are able to help. The purpose of a driver safety course, also known as a defensive or advanced driving course, is to increase the skill and standard of the driver on the road.

Driver Safety – Who We Help?

1. Those who are new to driving and need additional help
2. Employees who are having specific issues with their driving
3. Businesses who wish to invest in a specific driving safety course for their drivers

All training is road-based.

Key Elements of a Driver Safety Course

1. Isolating and addressing any ‘at-risk’ habits which could be having a negative impact on a driver’s level of safety
2. Provide bespoke driver training designed for full licence holders, with the main objective of improving levels of skill and safety when driving on a range of roads
3. Make lasting, positive changes to the way a driver navigates his or her way through various traffic scenarios

Is a driver safety course just like a defensive or advanced driving course?

A driver safety course is very similar to and is often referred to as a defensive or advanced course. There are lots of overlapping points. With such a course, there is usually a more specific focus on speed awareness, understanding the implications of speed and what you need to do as a driver to limit your road risk as far as possible. Whereas an advanced course may, at times, place more focus on vehicle control and safe progress. The exact content of such a course depends on the driver.

Bespoke training

We understand every driver is different. Which is why all our courses are tailored to the driver. What may be vital to some won’t be as important for others. However, on a typical course which is very focused on safety, we will focus on:

  1. Forward planning and observation
  2. Speed awareness and implications of speed
  3. How to adopt a defensive driving style
  4. How to minimise road risk
  5. Being aware of elements which can reduce your level of safety when driving (i.e tired, bad weather, lack of attention etc)
  6. Learning basic safety checks you need to perform on a vehicle
  7. Being able to preempt the actions of other drivers
  8. Dealing with heavy traffic
  9. Increasing your levels of confidence
  10. How to gain a better understanding of your own vehicle
