Buckinghamshire is a popular home for London commuters, and many historical political principles were born in the area with a significant influence on parliament that still holds today. Known for its open countryside and fine natural features, Buckinghamshire is ideally placed for accessible access routes to the City as well as being far enough away to enjoy the relative peace and quiet of the countryside.

The network of A roads, such as the A41, A413 and A418, connecting Aylesbury to the rest of Buckinghamshire and the commuter belt are challenging for many wanting to increase driving confidence, but we can help with our friendly and super professional tutors, who will come to you and take you out in your own car.

The rural roads over the Chilterns and toward high Wycombe are an ideal setting for building confidence in your driving,  with easy access to the M50 where you can gain trust in your motorway driving and put the nagging doubts that you cannot drive well to bed once and for all. We have helped hundreds of drivers with confidence issues and other driving concerns in Buckinghamshire, and we cover all towns from the outskirts of Stowe and Marlowe to the busier towns on the edge of the M25.

During a session, we typically look at:

•          Observation and awareness of the driving environment

•          Becoming more speed aware

•          Developing an improved attitude towards motoring

•          How to become a more skilful driver on all types of roads

•          Car control (looking at gears, steering, use of signals)

•          Motoring law

•          Coping and defusing with road rage

•          Manoeuvres and driving in restricted areas

•          Coping with bad weather

•          Driving in busy urban environments

•          Learning why skids happen and how to control  skid

•          Learning how to save fuel through economical motoring

•          Learning to see and not just look when driving

•          Learning how to better anticipate the actions of other road users

Once the training is complete, a PDF report will be sent to you with a number of things assessed, such as confidence, forward planning, attitude, vehicle control and much more. This report is very useful as it’s completely bespoke to the driver and provides useful tips and insights for future safer driving. Each report is fully verified and documented – proof you’ve had driver training with a DVSA registered professional.

Buckinghamshire’s close proximity to Middlesex means that some major roads pare their way through the county, including four motorways; the M1 passing Milton Keynes; the M40 over the Chilterns, and the M25 for a handful miles by the Middlesex border and the M4 motorway at the southern tip.

We provide advanced and defensive driving courses around Buckinghamshire, and we have trained many clients located in and around:

Buckingham
Chesham
Gerrard’s Cross
Aylesbury
High Wycombe
Marlow
Milton Keynes

All training is done in your own vehicle, and we will come to you.

Whether you are a corporate client training a number of drivers or a private individual, we have a number of bespoke courses to increase the skill and safety of a driver. Our courses are available for both van and car drivers.

3.5hr –The benefit of this course, the shortest in the range, is that it’s the lowest-priced option. The disadvantage is that for some drivers, it’s too short. Ideal mainly for companies training two or more drivers.

2 x 3.5hr – This is beneficial for customers that can’t drive for a full day and need the split to help them absorb more over a longer period. Often a driver gets homework on this session, so they can practice what has been covered in session one to help them with session two. Older drivers often opt for this course.

7hr full day – Although it can be hard work for some, a full day is cheaper than 2 x 3.5hr. It’s good for those who are time-poor. Maybe your company has asked you to do this course, or maybe you feel a 7hr will work better for you.

Call us for a chat if you are unsure. With business clients, we can split a full day so one driver is trained AM and then one driver is trained PM.

We offer longer courses for those with specific issues and offer 3, 4 and 5 x 3.5hr options. These are often taken over several weeks and are great if you have more deep-rooted issues or have not driven for a long while.

We would be delighted to hear from you with your exact requirements. Our team are trained to not only advise on course information and how they run, they also offer a non-judgemental approach for those that wish to open up and discuss specific issues. We know that for some, this is the first step in reaching out on their journey to confident driving.

Road Safety Risks and Information – Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire lies to the northwest of London and is an extremely busy location with many fast A road routes and motorways to navigate, as well as hundreds of rural roads and lanes crisscrossing the entire county.

The M40 runs to the west of Buckinghamshire, linking from the M25 at Uxbridge and into the Midlands, and many severe accidents have been seen, especially around junction 1A and the large urban roundabout on the M25 junction 16. Further along the M40 at the intersection of the A41 for Bicester, there have been much higher than average accidents shown. The M1 is another hazardous motorway lying to the east of Buckinghamshire, and this is also linked by the M25 and the A41; the large roundabouts that connect motorways and A roads are always more accident-prone, but the North Orbital junctions in the county are exceptionally high risk in terms of collisions.

As Buckinghamshire is so close to London, many commuters use the urban networks, particularly during rush hours, from Amersham, High Wycombe and Aylesbury, as the fast A roads such as the A413 and the A41 routes filter into the London motorway system of the M4 and the M25. Some of the worse affected urban areas for severe accidents across Buckinghamshire are the ring road surrounding Aylesbury, where the meeting of the A41, the A418 and the A4157 is littered with crash sites. So is the A4156 and Upper Hundreds Way that gives access to the centre of Aylesbury. Milton Keynes is another area where urban accidents are high. Even though Milton Keynes is a relatively new town, it seems that not too much thought for the future was made when looking at the road systems as they have many cross junctions in areas such as Oldbrook, Leadenhall and Eaglestone, where a higher amount of traffic has caused drivers to find other routes.

In the more rural parts of Buckinghamshire, there are some perilous areas, especially as rural roads have far less signage, lighting and a lack of speed cameras causing some drivers to take risks. The lovely villages in the outskirts of Buckingham, such as Lenborough Steeple Claydon and Newton Morrell, have seen some serious, sometimes fatal accidents. So drivers must understand how dangerous country roads can be. The triangle of rural roads between Thame, Wendover and High Wycombe is also another set of very hazardous roads with very high fatality incidences. Most rural roads will be joined by faster A road routes, and it’s along these points that most accidents are seen.

These are only a small outline of the many collision sites in the county. If you have any specific roads, you travel in the area and are keen to discover what areas are at higher risk of collisions. Please get in touch with us. We offer a free-of-charge service to anyone interested.
