Duration Overview – What’s Ideal For You?

Our courses are split into 3.5-hour sessions. While some opt for 7-hour sessions, they can be hard for some drivers who are perhaps not used to driving for such a long time.

One of the most popular session formats is the 2 x 3.5hr sessions, especially for private clients, as it allows time in between each session to absorb what has been covered.

We also offer 3,4, and 5 x 3.5hr sessions. These tend to be suited to those who have very specific confidence issues or who have not driven in a long time.

If you are unsure what course is best, you can opt for one or two 3.5-hour sessions and then book more on a pro-rata rate if needed.

B3086 – This road runs through Amesbury and provides access to nearby villages like Shrewton and the western outskirts of Salisbury.
A360 – A key route connecting Amesbury to the Stonehenge monument and further north to Devizes.

Road Safety – Risks and Hazards in Amesbury

In Amesbury, some roads are considered more hazardous due to high traffic volume, sharp bends, or their proximity to major landmarks. Here are a few roads that may pose higher risks for drivers:

  1. A303 – This major road is known for its high-speed traffic, particularly in the stretch near Amesbury. It can be dangerous due to sudden junctions, as well as congestion, especially during peak travel times and holidays when visitors head to Stonehenge.

  2. A345 – This road has narrow sections and tight bends and is heavily used by traffic moving between Amesbury and Salisbury, leading to potential accidents in poor visibility or bad weather.

  3. A360 – Connecting Amesbury to Stonehenge, this road can be hazardous with high traffic, especially during tourist seasons. It has winding stretches and areas where visibility can be poor.

  4. B3086 – This road can be dangerous in sections due to its narrow width and winding curves, especially in rural areas, where visibility is limited and traffic speeds can be high.

These roads can become more hazardous in adverse weather conditions or heavy traffic, particularly with the influx of tourists visiting the nearby Stonehenge site.
