Location Overview – Warwickshire is a historic county in the West Midlands. The county town is Warwick, and the largest town in the area is Nuneaton. The county is famous for being William Shakespeare’s birthplace at Stratford-upon-Avon and the Victorian novelist George Eliot in Nuneaton. Significant towns nearby include Atherstone, Leamington Spa, Rugby, Bedworth, and Kenilworth. Warwickshire has been divided into five districts: North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth, Rugby, Warwick, and Stratford-on-Avon.
It is covered by the M6, M40, M42 and M69 motorways and has some great A roads such as the A46, A44, A429 and the A34, which are all fabulous for using when taking advanced driver training. We have taken many drivers through advanced driver training across Warwickshire and helped bring van drivers to a good level across the whole fleet. We have also trained many private clients to become more confident with their everyday driving. The junctions of the A46 and M40 are excellent places to perfect any motorway or faster road challenges. You can use your own vehicle to train in, and our highly certified tutors will come to your chosen address. Warwickshire has a vast range of rural roads, which are perfect for helping with the System of Car Control and safe vehicle dynamics. The rural routes are endless in the county. Wherever you are starting from, there won’t be a rural road far from you where we can really help you become a better driver.
Half or Full Day?
Our half-day option works best if you want to train many drivers back-to-back. It’s cheaper per head, and your business has less downtime. As a private client, the half-day is ideal if you need a short refresher session.
A full day is more suited if you or a driver has specific issues, such as limited confidence, complaints about their driving (company drivers) or if you’re a private client and want more than a half-day training session but want to get the training done and dusted in one day.
We find many clients opt for the full-day session, and book one driver in the morning and one in the afternoon – there is no additional charge for this, and it works well for business clients.

Longer Duration Courses:
Our bespoke 3, 4 and 5 x 3.5hr sessions are suited to those with specific driving issues. These issues include driving anxiety, motorway confidence, a fear of driving in new areas, post-RTC confidence or those who have not driven in a long time. These longer courses are booked mainly by private individuals, although they are also open to our business customers. Those who commit to these longer-duration courses see change happen over the weeks as they build confidence and address the specific issues they may be facing.
Talk with us:
While we cover as many things as possible on this page, we understand you may still have questions. If you wish to discuss anything, please call or email us. A member of our team will be only too pleased to help you. We can help both private individuals and business clients.
If you’re looking at a quote for a large number of drivers, we will be able to provide such, along with how we can best approach the training based on your business needs. Training large numbers requires a little extra planning. Still, we have many years of experience in managing large, often complex driver training sessions, which involve multiple start locations and hectic diaries.
Road Safety Risks and Information – Warwickshire
Key Routes and Collision Hotspots
Warwickshire is well-connected by major roadways, with the M40 running through the south of the county and the M6 and M69 serving the north. A number of fast A roads—such as the A46, A429, A423, and A444—also traverse the region. As is the case with most high-speed routes, serious and sometimes fatal collisions are unfortunately common across these roads.
Motorway Risks in Warwickshire
The M40, linking the M25 near London to the M5 near Birmingham, is a particularly busy corridor through Warwickshire. High-risk areas include:
* Junction 11, near Banbury
* Junction 12, close to Gaydon
* Junction 15, where it intersects with the A46 near Warwick
Each of these junctions sees heavy traffic and a high volume of incidents, especially during peak travel times.
The M69 connects the M6 to the M1 at Leicester and also experiences significant congestion, particularly during rush hours. On the M6, which enters Warwickshire from the A14 near Rugby and runs north past Coventry, the accident rate is notably high. Key danger spots include:
* Junction 1, where the motorway intersects with the A426
* Junction 3, which meets the A444
* The Welcome Break service area slip roads, where several life-altering crashes have occurred
Of particular concern is the complex interchange on the Warwickshire-Birmingham border. Junction 3A, linking to the M42, and Junction 4, which connects to the A446 and M42, form an extensive and often confusing network. Many collisions here are thought to stem from drivers being unfamiliar with the layout, leading to last-minute lane changes and hazardous manoeuvres. Forward planning and clear route knowledge are essential when navigating these major junctions.
A Road Hazards and Rural Risks
The A46 is one of Warwickshire’s busiest A roads, running year-round with consistent traffic. Notable accident hotspots include:
* Dual carriageway sections leading into Stratford-upon-Avon
* Areas around Snitterfield and Warwick
Many of these incidents occur where high-speed stretches intersect with minor rural roads, often in open countryside with limited visibility.
In urban areas, the A444 through Nuneaton is heavily trafficked and features numerous roundabouts and signal-controlled junctions. While many incidents here are minor, they frequently cause significant delays during busy periods.
