Location Overview – Warwickshire is a historic county in the West Midlands. The county town is Warwick, and the largest town in the area is Nuneaton. The county is famous for being William Shakespeare’s birthplace at Stratford-upon-Avon and Victorian novelist George Eliot in Nuneaton. Significant towns nearby include Atherstone, Leamington Spa, Rugby, Bedworth, and Kenilworth. Warwickshire has been divided into five districts: North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth, Rugby, Warwick, and Stratford-on-Avon.

It is covered by the M6, M40, M42 and M69 motorways and has some great A roads such as the A46, A44, A429 and the A34, which are all fabulous for using when taking advanced driver training. We have delivered excellent driver training across Warwickshire and the West Midlands for private customers and corporate fleet companies alike. Did you know over 5 billion road miles were travelled in the county of Warwickshire last year?

We offer a range of bespoke courses, which include:

* Confidence training
* Younger drivers

All courses are constructed around the needs and requirements of the individual driver, but below are several things we look at:

* Learning to manage speed and become more speed aware
* How to understand other drivers and what they may do next

* How to become a safe driver on urban and rural roads and also motorways
* Understand your own limitations and at-risk factors – most of which you may not be aware of
* The system of car control – IPSGA
* Understanding observational elements of driving (seeing) and building these into your driving plan
* How to deal with complex and busy traffic environments

You will be issued a driving report after each session – sent via email. We have taken many drivers through advanced driver training across Warwickshire and helped bring van drivers to a good level across the whole fleet. We have also trained many private clients to become more confident with their everyday driving. The junctions of the A46 and M40 are excellent places to perfect any motorway or faster road challenges. You can use your own vehicle to train in, and our highly certified tutors will come to your chosen address. Warwickshire has a vast range of rural roads, which are perfect for helping with the System of Car Control and safe vehicle dynamics. The rural routes are endless in the county. Wherever you are starting from, there won’t be a rural road far from you where we can really help you become a better driver.

Half or Full Day?

Our half-day option works best if you want to train many drivers back-to-back. It’s cheaper per head, and your business has less downtime. As a private client, the half-day is ideal if you need a short refresher session.

A full day is more suited if you or a driver has specific issues, such as limited confidence, complaints about their driving (company drivers) or if you’re a private client and want more than a half-day training session but want to get the training done and dusted in one day.

We find many clients opt for the full-day session – and book one driver in the morning and one in the afternoon – there is no additional charge for this, and it works well for business clients.

Longer Duration Courses:

Our bespoke 3, 4 and 5 x 3.5hr sessions are suited to those with specific driving issues. These issues include driving anxiety, motorway confidence, a fear of driving in new areas, post-RTC confidence or those that have not driven in a long time. These longer courses are booked mainly by private individuals, although they are also open to our business customers. Those that commit to these longer-duration courses see change happen over the weeks as they build confidence and address the specific issues they may be facing.

Talk with us:

While we cover as many things as possible on this page, we understand you may still have questions. If you wish to discuss anything, please call, or email us. A member of our team will only be too pleased to help you. We can help both private individuals and business clients.

If you’re looking at a quote for a large number of drivers, we will be able to provide such, along with how we can best approach the training based on your business needs. Training large numbers require a little extra planning. Still, we have many years of experience in managing large, often complex driver training sessions, which involve multiple start locations and hectic diaries.

Road Safety Risks and Information – Warwickshire

Warwickshire is served by the M40 to the south of the county, the M6 and the M69 to the north. Several fast A road routes also cross the county, such as the A46, A429, A423 and the A444. As with most fast routes in any part of the country, severe crash sites are scattered across them all.

The M40 links the M25 near London to the M5 near Birmingham and is a very busy route, especially as it passes through Warwickshire. Some of the most hazardous areas are Junction 11, Junction 12, and Junction 15, where the intersection of the A46 crosses. The M69 links both the M6 and the M1 at Leicester and is another very busy junction with a high volume of traffic, especially during rush hours. The M6 merges from the A14 near Rugby and skirts the north of Coventry, and this has a very high accident rate involving multiple vehicles and several fatalities. Many collisions occur at the intersection of the A426 at Junction1 in Warwickshire, another area for concern is Junction 3 and the meeting of the A444, where the fatality rate is high. The slip road at the Welcome Break services has also seen collisions resulting in life-changing incidents. It is vital to be aware on any journey that at every junction, there is a higher possibility of a crash; add to that, the higher speeds of a motorway and hazards are rife. The considerable and challenging interchange at the boundary of Warwickshire and Birmingham, where Junction 3a leads to the M42 and Junction 4 links to the A446 and the M42, has numerous accidents across the entire intersection network. Many of these collisions may have been due to drivers unfamiliar with the network and being in the wrong lane for their exit, possibly causing a quick crossing of lanes in panic, this is why it is vital to have good forward planning when using busy motorway networks.

The A46 is one of the leading A roads through Warwickshire and is busy year-round; there are numerous accident sites along the whole route, and some of the hot spots are around the dual carriageways leading into Stratford on Avon and along the Villages of Snitterfield and into Warwick. This is a high-speed road, much of which is in open countryside areas where minor roads often cross. It is at these points that collisions often occur. The A444 through Nuneaton is a busy urban route with many roundabouts and traffic light junctions, and it is littered with accidents that can be minor at times but enough to cause significant traffic jams in rush hour traffic.

Many lovely rural villages in Warwickshire are visited by many, especially during the summer, but unfortunately, numerous accident sites are strewn across the picturesque lanes. Some hot spots are between Royal Leamington Spa and Southam, especially the B4451 Kineton Road, where several fatal collisions have happened in the past few years.

If you are curious to know where the hot spots for accidents occur on your regular journeys in Warwickshire or for a planned trip, then get in touch with us; we offer a few of the charge services for anyone interested.
