Regardless of what tier location you’re in, in-vehicle driver training is still allowed to take place, and we are providing driver training as usual with added protection for tutor and client.

As a company we are dedicated to helping prevent the transmission of Coronavirus when providing driver training to our clients across the UK. This charter will remain in place until advised by the government that such measures and restrictions are no longer needed.

Our tutors have been informed of this charter, are aware of it’s details and requirements, and will abide by it at all times, when providing driver training with us. We also require all clients to read this charter before any on-road training takes place, and to also fully abide by it for the health and safety of all involved.

These points below are subject to change, in accordance to government orders and advice.

Our tutors will:

1. Wash their hands before starting each training session and after.

2. Use a face mask during in-vehicle training, if they so wish, or are specifically asked by the client 24hrs before the training.

3. Be allowed to use any extra PPE if they so wish.

4. Phone the driver, where possible, 24 hours before hand to check that they feel well, and if they have knowingly been in contact with anyone who has displayed Coronavirus symptoms in last 14 days, or who has tested positive for such. They will also be asked if they have ever tested positive for Coronavirus.

5. On the day, again ask the driver, if they feel well, and if they have knowingly been in contact with anyone who has displayed Coronavirus symptoms in last 14 days, or who has tested positive for such. They will also be asked if they have ever tested positive for Coronavirus.

6. Avoid touching their face before, during and after the training.

7. Be equipped with hand sanitisation, either wipes or gel, and clean any part of the vehicle they feel is required, such as handles, seat belt buckle etc..

8. Cancel any training if they:

a. Feel unwell
b. Have been in close contact with anyone who has displayed possible Covid-19 symptoms in last 14 days, or who has tested positive for such.

9. Keep a 2 metre social distancing rule when outside the vehicle, or 1 metre with a mask on.

10. Make sure a window or windows are kept at least partly open to allow for airflow into the vehicle and/or have air conditioning on, but not on recirculation function.

11. Remind the driver of the importance of keeping to these guidelines at all times.

12. Use their own pens and paper, which will not be touched by the driver or anyone else.

13. Cancel the session immediately if they feel at risk of possible contamination (such as if driver persistently coughs). No refund will be given.

Our tutors will NOT:

1. Give a demonstration drive – thus avoiding touching steering wheel, gear stick etc, unless they are using disposable gloves, or thoroughly clean the touch elements immediately after the demonstration drive.

2. Have any more than one client in the vehicle at any one time.

3. Touch a drivers driving licence – a visual check can be done by the driver placing the licence on a seat or table.

4. Touch any belongings of the driver, such as anything inside the vehicle, apart from gaining access/exit to the vehicle.

5. Touch any of the controls, apart from gaining access/exit to the vehicle, unless in an emergency situation.

6. Directly face the driver when giving feedback in the vehicle.

7. Provide detailed feedback in the vehicle – this will be done outside the vehicle observing the 2 metre rule.

We asked that each driver/client:

1. Washes their hands before and after the training.

2. Use a face mask or any other form of PPE.

3. Truthfully comply with the tutor, when being asked about their health and possible exposure to the virus.

4. Avoid touching their face before, during and after the training.

5. Ideally be equipped with hand sanitisation, either wipes or gel, and clean any part of the vehicle they feel is required, such as handles, seat belt buckle etc..

6. Cancel any training at any time if they:

a. Feel unwell
b. Have been in close contact with anyone who has displayed possible Covid-19 symptoms in last 14 days, or who has tested positive for such.

7. Respect the 2 metre distancing rule when outside the vehicle.

8. Make sure a window or windows are kept at least partly open to allow for airflow into the vehicle and/or have air conditioning on, but not on recirculation function.

9. Avoid face to face contact with the tutor when in the vehicle.

10. Comply with the tutors reasonable requests at all times.
