The Psychology of Car Colours
Chromotherapy is a long-known practice that uses colour to improve well-being both physically and emotionally, as they can affect mood and biology as well as emotional responses. We use colour like this in our homes and our wardrobes and it is no wonder that many car drivers prefer specific colours for their cars.
Just for a bit of fun, here is what your favourite car colour says about you!
Grey/Silver
For the sixth year, running grey has been the most popular car colour in the UK. Silver also falls into this category, and drivers are said to be rational, sober and pragmatic in personality. They tend to be more cautious and don’t like to stand out in a crowd, and a grey vehicle will do a good job hiding dirt better than other colours and tending to show functionality over flash. Grey and silver cars are also said to have a lower depreciation rate and higher resale value.

Black
Black cars are very popular in the UK and are associated with luxury, sophistication, and elegance, so many business owners will opt for a sleek black car. The driver of a black car will exude confidence, even if it is the smallest car on the fleet, it will be kept immaculate and probably smell expensive with designer fragrances! There is a huge sense of pride and, sometimes, a bit of ego with a black car driver.

White
White cars are purchased by contemporary, outlooking people who like to show their modern taste and are possibly quite organised and minimalist. White can show a desire for new objects; Apple will always bring out white products! A white car also shows cleanliness and is a colour associated with calm and purity. Very few white cars on the road are left dirty for long. Drivers of white cars tend to be courteous and are more inclined to thank another driver.

Blue
Blue can be a marmite colour depending on the shade, navy and metallic can be popular, but the lighter blues can be looked upon as less desirable. Blue car drivers are usually quite happy and confident with a young outlook on life. These drivers will probably hate any form of confrontation but possess much creativity and imagination. They like to show dependability and are pretty even-tempered. A blue car driver will most likely let you out of a busy junction, and you are unlikely to see any form of aggressive driving behaviour from them. There are always exceptions, however!

Red
Red has always symbolised passion, power, and strength and no wonder the colour appeals to drivers with an energetic personality. Red car drivers are not afraid to see and be seen, which, for other drivers, can be somewhat slightly aggressive. Red car drivers may have a rebellious streak.

Green
Green car drivers are more likely to have a modest and harmonious personality, although they are less inclined to let you out of a junction apparently! They tend to show control in their daily lives, are trustworthy and well-balanced, and can be relied on in a crisis. Green cars are not so popular as a colour, but even though they may not be so fashionable, the drivers are not driven by current trends and follow their own paths.

Orange and Yellow
Drivers of orange and yellow cars can tend to have bright and sunny personalities and tend not to be bogged down in the gloomy side of life for long.

Brown
Brown cars are the least popular, but the drivers are seen as sturdy and safe, much like the models of cars the colour is suited to. Drivers tend to be financially responsible and choose a mechanically sound, reliable, and comfortable car. Many brown cars are driven for long periods at a time; they are less likely to be found in accidents, and the drivers will have a calm and relaxed driving manner and will probably be the first to stop at the scene of an accident and help.

Conclusion
Whatever colour your car may be, it is a good idea to try to keep it as clean and tidy as you can. This will ensure that all your lights can be seen and not covered with mud and grime in the winter months. You will also be able to spot any damage that may need to be fixed.
