Location Introduction – Bracknell is a large town in Berkshire and is the most western area within Greater London. It is also the centre of the Bracknell Forest and was originally a small market village and part of the Windsor Great Forest. Bracknell experienced massive growth in the mid-20th century when it was declared a new town and absorbed many of the surrounding hamlets, including Old Bracknell, Ramslade and Easthampstead.  Swinley Forest and Crowthorne Woods to the east and south surround Bracknell. The larger urban area has now absorbed parts of many local outlying areas, including Winkfield, Warfield, Ascot, and Binfield. Bracknell lies 11 miles east of Reading, 9 miles south of Maidenhead, 10 miles southwest of Windsor and 25 miles west of Central London. Heathrow Airport is 13 miles east of Bracknell. We have carried out advanced driver training in the area, including Harmans Water, Amen Corner, Holme Green and Binfield. The roads crossing Bracknell are ideal for all types of driver training for private and corporate customers. Our courses run slightly different from other driver training providers, as our tutors will come to your home or office, taking you out in your own car or van.

Half or Full Day Sessions available

The half-day session is ideal for companies with many drivers to train and wish to take advantage of the costs and time savings associated. The full day is perfect for drivers wanting to experience an intensive Advanced Driving course to iron out any bad habits.

We tend to find many clients opt for the full-day session – and book one driver in the morning and one in the afternoon, and it works really well.

When we train drivers, we look at building the course around their specific needs. We initially let them drive for a short period. Then, after a friendly debrief, we introduce several advanced driving techniques such as forward planning, car control, advanced observation, and much more.

The main part of the course is designed to improve the driver – and we find the best approach here is to work on their specific driving style and requirements and adjust the training to fit their needs.

We are happy to discuss your exact requirements, and our team are trained to advise on course information and how they run and offer a non-judgemental approach for those who wish to open up and discuss specific issues. For many unconfident drivers, this is the first step in reaching out on their journey to confident driving. Please call or email for more information and advice.

Road Safety Risks and Information – Bracknell

Bracknell is located on the western side of London in the county of Berkshire and is served by the A332, which runs through the centre of the town. The A332 links to the A329 Motorway that joins the M4 at Wokingham. Bracknell is an extremely busy and highly populated zone, bringing many accidents across the area, especially with traffic heading to and from the M4.

Bracknell is a highly built-up urban area with many residential areas spreading from the town centre, and these all have high collision rates. Some of the worst affected areas are Park Road, heading toward Edmunds Green and Whitegrove and Mill Lane, and Jennets Park and Easthampsted. Both of these routes are littered with crash sites, and most crashes occur near traffic lights and roundabout junctions, where lack of observations and frustration can be partly to blame for some of these incidents. The A332, which runs from Bagshot through to the M4, is a hectic route, and there have been some very severe and sometimes fatal accidents found along this route. Many occur on large urban roundabout intersections, such as the Bagshot Road roundabout, where poor lane positioning may be a problem that will result in collisions. The Twin Bridges roundabout that links Mill Lane and Skimped Hill Lane to the A332 is another area of concern with numerous accident sites, which again can be attributed to poor lane positioning, and this is why it is essential to know of your directions and lane exits when using large urban roundabouts.

The majority of Bracknell retail centre is pedestrianised, but there is a one-way system called The Ring that encircles this, and public transport routes also use this and are home to many car parks. Although there are numerous collision sites along this route, they are less severe due to slower speeds, but still, they can be very upsetting and lead to congestion with road closures at times. Driving in busy urban settings, especially during rush hours, can be frustrating, and this can lead to many needless accidents due to a lack of indications and observations when everyone is rushing to get to their destination simultaneously. Having a calm demeanour during rush hour traffic is essential and can improve any drive.

This is only a tiny outline of collision sites across Bracknell. If you have any specific roads you travel on in the area and are keen to discover what parts are at higher risk of collisions, don’t hesitate to contact us. We offer a free-of-charge service to anyone interested.
