Location Overview – Humberside was a county in Northern England until 1996 and was made up of the Humber Estuary and created from sections of the East Riding and West Riding of Yorkshire, and the north part of Lincolnshire. Its largest city is Kingston upon Hull, and other towns include Goole, Beverley, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Cleethorpes, and Bridlington. The Humberside name has continued in use as a geographical term only, mainly for the media and in the names such as Humberside Police and Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. We have delivered an excellent standard of advanced driver training throughout the Humberside region for private drivers wanting to increase their driving standards or for conquering confidence issues. Reports After Training:
Each client taking driver training with us will receive a detailed driving report within a few days after training. This gives a very insightful look into what was covered on the day, how the driver improved, and to what extent and in what areas. The report is very important as it lets you know a driver’s skill and competency level and what they also need to work on. We take report authentication seriously, which is why each report we produce is bespoke to the driver and has a unique verification number so that you can check back for an original copy with us. This is useful if an employer has asked an employee to take driver training.
Key learning points of our driver training:
* Work on any issues which could be impacting your level of skill and safety
* Dealing with and addressing issues which may have been holding you back
* Demonstrating your intention to become a safer, improved driver
* Become a much improved, more skilful motorist
Training is a little different for commercial clients – the end client, the person who has the on-road training, is often not the person who decides to do the training.
While we help the driver to improve, from a commercial perspective, your business will benefit from the following:
* Demonstrating your businesses Duty of Care
* Providing the opportunity for an employee to develop their driving role
* Lower fuel costs
* Less wear and tear on vehicles
* No excuses for damage caused by careless drivers after training
* Potentially lower your fleet insurance costs
* Detailed reporting with risk assessments.
Humberside is a large area serving the east of the UK, and the uncomplicated transport routes are ideal for taking Advanced Driver training. The junction at the meeting of the A63 and A15, north of the Humber bridge, is a perfect spot for building confidence with busy urban roundabouts and training for motorways and faster roads. In comparison, the more minor, rural roads are great for helping to navigate more challenging routes. At drivers Domain UK, we only have the very best Advanced Driver tutors working with us. They are registered with the DVSA and will come to you, be that your office or home address. They will take you out in your own or company vehicle and deliver a detailed driving report once the course has been completed.
Half or Full Day
We offer full (7 hour) or half-day (3.5 hour) durations with our Advanced Driver training.
A full day is ideal if you want to take an intensive course for drivers with specific issues that need ironing out or to train two fleet drivers in the same location. Most business fleet managers opt for full-day sessions and train many drivers in the shortest time frame possible. We also do full day courses such as campervan training or performance car training, which are often split between two private drivers.
A half day on its own is ideal for those who want a taster into Advanced Driving and want to brush up on their driving skills, whereas additional half days are perfect for drivers wanting to build confidence over a period of time. We have given many nervous drivers their freedom back after taking Advanced Driver training with us. Our tutors not only deliver expert driving tuition but also understand the many issues that a lack of confidence brings and appreciate how challenging it may be to start training.

While we have attempted to cover as many things as possible on this page, we understand you may still have questions, so please get in touch, and we can advise you on the best way to move forward with your driving needs. A member of our team will only be too pleased to help you.
If you are looking at training several drivers, we will quickly provide you with a quote, along with how we can best approach the training based on your business needs. Training large numbers requires a little extra planning, but we have many years of experience managing extensive, often complex driver training sessions, which involve nationwide locations and hectic diaries.
Road Safety Risks and Information – Humberside
Humberside is a bustling county that spans the River Humber; it has a busy port, and toward the coast, there are many holiday destinations, so the volume of traffic can be much more than compared to inland counties. Accidents are spread across Humberside, and many have been fatal, involving multiple vehicles.
The M62 joins Humberside at Goole and splits into the A63 into Hessle and Hull and the A164 leading towards Beverley. As Humberside is a port area, a lot of main route traffic is haulage, which adds to drivers’ challenges when using fast main routes across the county. Some of the worst affected areas are junction 37 of the M62, where the A614 links to Boothferry Road, and the stretch of motorway that links the minor junctions of Welton and North Ferriby. Both of these accident sites have involved severe collisions, sometimes resulting in fatalities.
Hull has the most significant urban network of roads in Humberside, and the collision sites are scattered across every route. The A1165 runs through the centre of Hull from the double roundabout intersection of the A53 and links to the A165 running east to Ganstead; this route is exceptionally high for accidents, with the majority showing collisions at side road junctions. This very fast route is split into dual carriageways in many places. Still, it is the most affected area in accidents in Humberside. Anlaby Road in the centre of Hull is another very high-risk area. The ring road surrounding the centre of Beverley is an area with over the average collision sites for such a relatively small town, the lower side of the route is a one-way system, and the B1230 near the Leisure centre junction has seen several fatal accidents in the last few years.
These are only a very broad outline of collision sites in the county. If you have any specific roads you travel on in the area and are keen to discover what parts are at higher risk of collisions, don’t hesitate to contact us. We offer a free-of-charge service to anyone who is interested.
