We carry out advanced and defensive driving courses all over Lincolnshire. In the last few years, we have trained clients located in and around:
Scunthorpe – an ideal start location for the M181 for motorway training and smaller towns such as
Lincoln, Horncastle, Sleaford, Grantham, Boston, Skegness and Grimsby are some of the locations that we used during our training.
We will always come to you and take you or your driver out in your vehicle.
Half or Full Day?
The half-day is ideal for those with many drivers who want to take advantage of the time and cost savings associated with such.
We tend to find many clients book the full-day session – one driver in the morning and one in the afternoon. This is great if you have both drivers in the same location. If you have over 21 drivers, we can accommodate 3 sessions per day.
The full day is also perfect for private drivers who wish to experience an intensive course and wish to iron out any bad habits they may have.
When we are training drivers, we look at building the course around their specific needs. Our tutors initially let them drive for a short period. Then after a break and a friendly debrief, we look at introducing several advanced driving techniques such as the system of car control, forward planning, advanced observation and much more.
The central part of the session is designed to improve the driver – and we find the best approach here is to work on their specific driving style and requirements and adjust the training to fit their needs.

Road Safety Risks and Information – Lincolnshire
Lincolnshire is set in the East of the UK, south of the Humber Estuary and borders the East Riding of Yorkshire, many fast A road routes serve it, but the only motorway is the M80 that brushes the northernmost tip linked by the A15. Accident rates in Lincolnshire are very high in all areas, urban and rural, and it is vital that drivers are aware of accident hot spots for all their journeys to be better prepared for safer driving.
The A15 is the main A road that runs the length of Lincolnshire, linking Lincoln to Peterborough in the south and the other A roads, such as the A52 and the A17. Some of the worse spots for collisions are found along these routes, such as the stretch of road between Cranwell Village and Sleaford and the stretch between Graby and Bourne on the A15. The A1 is another route with high accident rates; many are very severe and, sadly, sometimes fatal. The junctions between Little Ponton and Barrowby around Grantham leading to the A52 are exceptionally high. The A17 from Newark on Trent to Boston is another fast road with many collision sites around the intersections of minor rural roads joining or crossing. These accident sites are widespread in rural areas as often there is little street lighting and very few signs, and in quiet rural areas, drivers tend to take more risks with speed, and unfortunately, it is the younger drivers that come to the most harm on such roads according to widespread statistics.
The roads leading in and out of the town centres are very hazardous, especially during rush hours, and Lincoln, the main city in Lincolnshire, has the most serious issues. These have happened on the one-way systems of the A57 and the intersection of Brayford Way over the Brayford Pool and the traffic light junctions of Newland and Wigford Way. These relatively new ring road systems take much through traffic away from the centre. Still, the more minor roads that link between are also rife with severe accident spots, such as Corporation St and Silver St, showing that many drivers see them as shortcuts. It is similar in other town centres throughout Lincolnshire, such as Sleaford, where the London Road and Mareham Lane traffic light junction has seen some very nasty severe accidents. Northgate into Sleaford Centre is also a collision hotspot.
Lincolnshire has rural and coastal roads to travel, and to the east of the county, many seaside locations are visited by holidaymakers each year. The minor roads can become quite congested in the summer months. The A52 links to the A16 at Skegness and follows the coastline, and the narrow lanes spread to the coast towards Mablethorpe and Donna Nook. Many severe accident sites are found here, and on Alford Road into Mablethorpe. Checking accident hotspots should become as routine as checking directions when facing unfamiliar journeys to help contribute to safe travel.
These are only a short outline of collision sites in the county. If you have any specific roads you travel on in the area and you are keen to discover what parts are at higher risk in terms of collisions, please contact us. We offer a free-of-charge service to anyone who is interested.
