Location Overview – Windsor is a historic and famous market town located in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire. It is the historic site of Windsor Castle, which is one of the famous official residences of the British monarch. The town is situated 21.8 miles west of Charing Cross, Central London, 5.8 miles southeast of Maidenhead, and 15.8 miles east of the county town of Reading. Windsor has been occupied since 1070, and from about the 8th century, high-status people started to visit the site, including royalty. Windsor has one of the highest tourism industries in the UK and sees millions of tourists each year and even more when important royal events are scheduled at the castle. Windsor is a popular area for private and business drivers to take advanced driver training. We have delivered excellent training in Windsor and across Berkshire since 2011.

During a session, we typically look at the following:

* Understanding observational elements of driving (seeing) and building these into your driving plan
* The system of car control – IPSGA
* Developing a much-improved attitude towards driving
* Becoming a more skilled driver on all road types
* Car control (looking at gears, steering, and use of signals, etc)
* Understand your own limitations and at-risk factors – most of which you won’t be aware of
* Undoing years of ingrained bad habits
* Coping and defusing road rage situations
* Manoeuvres, including reversing, parking, and driving in tight areas
* Coping with adverse weather
* Driving in busy urban and town environments
* Learning why skids can happen and how to control them
* Learn how you and other drivers think when behind the wheel
* Learning to see and not just look when driving
* Learning how to anticipate the actions of other road users better

Once the training is complete, a PDF report will be sent to you with things assessed, such as confidence, forward planning, attitude, vehicle control, and more. This report is beneficial as it’s completely bespoke to the driver and provides valuable tips and insights for future safer driving. Each report is thoroughly verified and documented – proof you’ve had driver training with a DVSA-registered professional.

Key learning points of our driver training:

* Become a much improved, more skilful motorist
* Work on any issues which could be impacting your level of skill and safety
* Demonstrate your intention to become a safer, improved driver
* Deal with and address issues which may have been holding you back

Training is a little different for commercial clients – the end client, the person who has the on-road training, is often not the person who decides to do the training.

While we help the driver to improve, from a commercial perspective, your business will benefit from:

* Demonstrating your businesses Duty of Care
* Potentially lower your fleet insurance costs
* Providing the opportunity for an employee to develop
* Showing you care
* Lower fuel costs

Windsor has links to three local motorways: the M3 (junction 3), 10 miles to the south via the A332, passing Ascot; the M4 (junction 6), 3 miles to the north via the A332, with the A355 spur leading to Slough and the M25 (junction 13), 5 miles to the east via the A308, which continues to Staines-upon-Thames. We have delivered the highest standard of advanced driver training throughout Windsor and its surrounding towns and villages since 2011, including Clewer Green, Water Oakley, Datchet and Old Windsor. Our highly skilled tutors, some of who are former Police advanced drivers, will come to your chosen home or office address, and you can use your own car or van for the training session.

Whether you are a private client or a business customer, we can build a course based on your specific needs and requirements anywhere in the UK.

Our courses do vary in structure, although we have several courses based on duration:

3.5hr session

7hr session (which can be split for two drivers if needed)

2 x 3.5hr sessions

3 x 3.5hr sessions – We also have longer courses if needed.

The 7hr session, as mentioned above, can be split between two drivers, which is time and cost-efficient. One driver will be trained in the morning, usually from 9 am to 12:30, and then the second driver in the afternoon, usually from 13:00 to 16:30. We can be very flexible on start times and start earlier than 9 am if needed. Each driver has 3.5hr on-road training.

Longer Duration Courses:

Our bespoke 3, 4 and 5 x 3.5hr sessions are suited to those with specific driving issues. These issues include driving anxiety, motorway confidence, a fear of driving in new areas, post-RTC confidence or those that have not driven in a long time.

These longer courses are booked mainly by private individuals, although they are also open to our business customers.

Those that commit to these longer-duration courses see change happen over the weeks as they build confidence and address the specific issues they may be facing.
