* 2 x 3.5hr sessions
* 3 x 3.5hr sessions – We also have longer courses if needed.

Longer Duration Courses:

Our bespoke 3,4 and 5 x 3.5hr sessions are suited for those who identify as having specific issues with their driving, such as driving anxiety, significant driving issues on particular roads, or who have not driven for a very long time. These longer courses are booked mainly by private individuals, although they are also open to our business clients.

These longer-duration courses are great for those facing particular (often very specific) issues, as it can take time to build up your skill and confidence levels. Road Safety Risks and Information – Carlisle

The city of Carlisle is located in the northeast of the UK near the border of Scotland in Cumbria and is served by the M6. This is the main route into Scotland on the western side of the UK and is very busy all year round.

Numerous accidents are found along the stretch of the M6 motorway that passes through Carlisle, especially near exits such as Junction 42, Golden Fleece Interchange, and the meeting of the A6 and the B6262. Many collisions are found here where possible poor lane exiting may be to blame as this is quite a challenging roundabout. Junction 43 is similar, with the Rotary Way roundabout showing collision rates leading to the slip road onto the motorway. Junction 44, Greymoorhill Interchange, is the worst affected junction at Carlisle, joining the A7 and the A689. This has numerous collision sites, and care must be taken when crossing this large urban roundabout. The A689 encircles Carlisle from the west, across the M6 to the north and onto meet the A69 at Brampton toward Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is a high-speed and difficult route in places, especially as it crosses the Parkhouse Road roundabout and over the M6.

London Road, A6, links the M6 from Junction 42 to the centre of Carlisle, and there are numerous crash sites along this route, mainly around the crossings of other roads, especially at the traffic light junction of Petteril Bank Road. This is also the entrance to a busy supermarket and a confusing corner, so observations and indications may have been to blame. Statistics are similar along the entire route where roads cross and become worse into the centre of Carlise. Although the accidents along the stretch of Botchergate are less severe due to lower speed limits, they can be quite chaotic and lead to congestion. The A595, Wigton Road, is relatively high in crash statistics as it winds through a residential area of Carlisle, but when it meets the one-way system at Bridge Street, the collision rates soar.

These are only a very broad outline of collision sites in Carlisle. Please contact us if you have any specific roads you travel on in the area and are keen to discover what parts are at higher risk of collisions. We offer a free-of-charge service to anyone who is interested.
