We offer driver training all over the UK, including the area of Middlesex. Middlesex is a thriving and busy county with towns located in beautiful countryside but within a stone’s throw of London and the commuter belt. It is no wonder that Middlesex has become an ideal area for those wishing to escape the City but maintain easy access to the main transport network.

The traditional villages and towns throughout Middlesex are connected within a well-designed network of motorways, the M25, M4 and M5, that can take you through to Wales and the Midlands or across the Capital and A roads that connect straight through Wiltshire and Somerset and on to Devon and Cornwall.

While Middlesex is no longer predominantly rural, its pretty towns and villages still maintain a calm and relaxed ambience that attracts more families into the county each year, so keeping easy transport links is vital to the county.

  2. Looking ahead and developing powers of observation
  3. Increasing focus on speed and excessive speed
  4. Modifying attitude towards a safer, more proactive way to drive
  5. Learning the System of Car Control
  6. How to avoid road rage situations
  7. Manoeuvres, reversing, and driving in confined spaces
  8. Driving safety on the motorway and dual carriageways
  9. Becoming a safer urban driver – identifying and dealing with pedestrians and cyclists
  10. Learn how to drive in a more environmentally friendly way
  11. How to boost driving confidence
  12. Identifying high-risk driving – such as at night, driving tired or when stressed

You will be issued a driving report after each session – sent via email. This report is fully documented with us and has a unique verification number attached – proof you’ve had training with a qualified professional. On your report, you will be able to see how you improved and in what areas, along with some useful tips to make sure you keep up your improved standard of driving.

Our Locations:

Here at Drivers Domain UK, we cover the whole of Middlesex with our Advanced Driving courses, from leafy Northwood and Ruislip to the busier towns along the M4 and A40 to the centre of London. Our tutors have excellent local knowledge. We have helped many drivers develop their driving skills, such as assisting them to regain their confidence after moving out of the inner-city public transport links to using a car more often or just refreshing their driving skills due to inactivity on the roads during the Covid pandemic. We also assist those looking to drive vans safely. Our motorhome courses are also very popular now as many reconnect with the beautiful British Isles rather than facing airport queues.

We provide advanced and defensive driving courses all over Middlesex. In the last few years, we have trained clients located in and around:

Brentford
Edmonton
Hounslow
Northwood
Sunbury-on-Thames
Twickenham

Our courses are door-to-door, we come to, and you drive your own vehicle. You do not have to attend a centre.

Course Durations:

Our courses do vary in structure, although we have a number of courses based on duration:

  • 3.5hr session
  • 7hr session (which can be split for 2 drivers if needed)
  • 2 x 3.5hr sessions
  • 3 x 3.5hr sessions – We also have longer courses if needed.

Longer Duration Courses:

Our bespoke 3,4, and 5 x 3.5hr sessions are suited, for those that identify as having specific issues with their driving, such as driving anxiety, significant driving issues on specific roads, or who have not driven for a very long time. These longer courses are mostly booked by private individuals, although they are open to our business clients too.

These longer-duration courses are great for those facing certain (often very specific) issues, as it can take time to build up your skill and confidence levels. The time in between each session will also be valuable as it gives you time to reflect, absorb and practise what has been covered.

We also carry out a lot of courses that have been advised by insurers or solicitors after traffic accidents as part of the recovery process; ask for more details and how we can organise a course tailored to your needs.

Road Safety Risks and Information – Middlesex

Middlesex is a sprawling county that encompasses most of north London and reaches Enfield in the north and Sunbury on Thames in the South. It is a bustling county with much commuter traffic in and out of London, especially during rush hours. The main motorways serving Middlesex are the M1, M3, M4, M40 and the M25, with several fast A roads such as the A1, A40 and the A406. All of these routes are fraught with dangerous accident hot spots, and caution should be taken when using them.

The M1 has seen some severe accidents where the Great Northern Way merges northbound, and around the Scratchwood Services is another area to be aware of. The M40 merges into the A40 and also has a challenging intersection where it joins the M25; this is a particularly hazardous area to be aware of. There have been many collisions involving multiple vehicles at a time, with sadly numerous fatalities on this meeting of fast-moving routes. The M4 from Slough into London is also littered with many serious collision sites, junction 4b, where it meets the M25, is another area of concern as there is a high accident rate in this vicinity. The M3 from Sunbury On Thames, which merges into the A316 and the A305, carries much traffic to and from the City, and many collisions, minor and severe, are found along these routes daily and can add to traffic build-up on already packed routes. This is where good all-around observations and great patience are needed for safe driving.

The M40 carries a high traffic volume across north London and splits into the A5 and the A501. The rate of severe and fatal collisions is exceptionally high, especially at the joining of the A406 near Hangar Lane. The overpass of Western Ave is also a high-risk area. North London roads such as the Finchley Road and the A5 Maida Vale are always going to have more accidents than most roads in the UK due to the sheer number of road users, including pedestrians, public transport and tube stops, all jostling for space on crowded streets. It is little wonder that many locals prefer to use public transport than drive, but this can result in a lack of confidence when they do need to use a car. Many of our courses are taken by drivers who have moved from London to more rural areas and are now driving again but with much less confidence than before.

If you have any specific roads you travel on in the Middlesex area and are interested in discovering what parts are at high risk, please contact us. We offer a free-of-charge service to those that are interested.
